Brucella microti sp. nov., isolated from the common vole Microtus arvalis.
Two Gram-negative, non-motile, non-spore-forming, coccoid bacteria (strains CCM 4915(T) and CCM 4916), isolated from clinical specimens of the common vole Microtus arvalis during an epizootic in the Czech Republic in 2001, were subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic study. On the basis of 16S rRNA (rrs) and recA gene sequence similarities, both isolates were allocated to the genus Brucella. Affili...
full textDescription of Perkinsus beihaiensis n. sp., a new Perkinsus sp. parasite in oysters of Southern China.
Oysters were collected from coastal locations in China from 1999-2006 for parasite analyses by molecular, culture, and histological techniques. Polymerase chain reaction-based assays targeting the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of the ribosomal RNA gene complex were performed to detect the presence of Perkinsus species. Sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of amplified Perkinsus sp. D...
full textDescription of Helicotylenchus persiaensis sp. n. (Nematoda: Hoplolaimidae) from Iran .
In order to identify the species of Helicotylenchus Steiner, 1945 present in Iran, 497 soil and root samples were collected from the rhizosphere of different plants and localities throughout the country during 2009-2010. A new and several known species of Helicotylenchus were identified from the collected material. H. persiaensis sp. n. is characterized by its short tail (8-11 µm , c = 54.2-79....
full textDescription of Trichodorus iranicus sp. n. (Diphtherophorina, Trichodoridae) from Iran.
Trichodorus iranicus sp. n. is described and illustrated based on morphological and molecular characters and morphometric data. It belongs to the T. lusitanicus morphospecies group based on the shape of the spicules and vaginal sclerotised pieces. Males have a body length of 844-942 µm, onchiostyle length of 59 µm, three cervical papillae (CP), curved spicules, 28-30 µm in length, with narrow m...
full textAnagnorisma chamrani sp. n. (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae) from Iran
A new Anagnorisma species, Anagnorisma chamrani sp. n., is described from Binaloud Mountains of Khorasan-e-Razavi province in north-eastern Iran, and compared with its sister species, Anagnorisma eucratides (Boursin, 1960). The adults, and male and female genitalia of both species are illustrated in 11 figures. The genus Anagnorisma is recorded for the first time for the fauna of Iran.
